WHO IS ANA BOOTH

Ana Booth is a third-generation artist and a second-generation stained glass artisan. Born in Cherokee, NC, and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, her journey into the arts was inspired by her mother and maternal grandmother, both talented artists in their own right.

Ana's artistic passion was ignited by watching her mother paint and sketch with stunning detail. At age 9, Ana started a sketch diary, which evolved into painting on ceramic tiles that she sold to her school teachers.

Ana's introduction to stained glass came at 16 when she apprenticed under Maggie Chabot of Maggie's Creative Studios in Floyd, Virginia. This three-year apprenticeship cemented her passion for stained glass. She began creating on a small back porch, using a chest freezer as a work table.

She eventually moved to Radford City, Virginia, where she created an in-house studio and started selling her works to family and friends. Her craft evolved from suncatchers to large art pieces, attracting a growing clientele. Seeking more space, she then relocated to Galax, Virginia, and built a 2700 sq ft studio, opening in 2011. She started teaching beginner classes at Chestnut Creek School of the Arts, Jacksonville Center, Reynolds Homestead, and in her private studio. She also continued to create custom designs, repair, restore, and sell stained glass supplies.

Following the pandemic, She relocated to Fort Pierce, Florida, where she now operates a mobile studio from a shuttle bus, selling supplies and teaching stained glass in various locations including Okeechobee, Lakeport, Port St. Lucie, and occasionally West Palm. She is also a member of Main Street Arts in Okeechobee and St. Lucie Cultural Alliance in Fort Pierce.

With over 30 years of experience, Ana's vision is to inspire and revitalize creativity, providing an environment that encourages the exploration of all arts, and bridging the gap between artists and the community, one step at a time.
